Public Affairs Office (PAO)
The Director of the U.S. Army Garrison Fort Lee Public Affairs Office advises the commander and executes the Community Relations, Command Information and Media Relations missions.
The PAO has sole release authority and acts as spokesperson for the command.
The PAO's function is to provide timely, accurate and truthful communications about the command and its activities to all members of the community including military personnel, Family members, retirees and the American public.
Command Information
The command information program includes the post newspaper, the Traveller, and its website, Fort Lee Command Channel 70, the digital signs at the access gates, and the installation guidebook and map. The Traveller is published weekly and distributed throughout the installation. Newsstand locations include the Post Exchange, Commissary, all Shoppettes, Burger King, all FMWR facilities and most administrative and school buildings throughout the installation. Media Relations
News organizations interested in covering the mission and events at Fort Lee or filming on the installation must coordinate with the PAO to visit the installation.
Community Relations
Community relations programs at Fort Lee increase public awareness of the Fort Lee mission, inspire patriotism and foster goodwill. With its unique location amidst six cities and counties, Fort Lee takes an active interest in improving community quality of life and supporting local government, civic and non-profit organizations. Whether through providing patriotic programs and performances or sharing information, the community relations division employs a variety of resources to reach out to Fort Lee friends and neighbors including: The Post Card, Requests for Fort Lee Assets, Speakers, Fort Lee Third Thursday Tour, Off Duty in the Community, and Community Events.
