The command information program encompasses the installation's Fort Lee Traveller newspaper, including its website and social media pages; the digital sign at the main gate on Sisisky Avenue; and the annually published Installation Guide and Telephone Directory.
The Traveller is a weekly publication that currently serves an average audience of more than 47,000 individuals each week, including active-duty service members, military families, government civilians, military retirees and reservists in the Tri-City area.
Every Thursday, about 9,000 copies of each Traveller issue are distributed throughout the installation and off-post in commercial businesses with high-volumes of military traffic. Newsstand locations include the Post Exchange, Commissary, all Shoppettes, Burger King, all FMWR facilities and most administrative and school buildings on post. The publication also is available online at www.fortleetraveller.com.
Unlike civilian newspapers off-post; the Traveller has a military-specified mission to accommodate the command information needs of installation leaders. In addition to publishing frequent articles that focus on safety, health, environmental protection, changes to policy and more, the post newspaper tells the Fort Lee story through photos and features that highlight key events, significant achievements, the quality of military training and the unique aspects of a diverse community.
Established in 1941, the Fort Lee Traveller takes its name from the famous horse owned by General Robert E. Lee.
Contributed articles and photos are eagerly accepted. If you call us with a story idea and we’re not able to cover it, or if your unit is involved in an evening or weekend activity worthy of mention, snap a photo and send it to us with a short write-up that includes the 5 Ws – who, what, when, where and why. Remember that action shots are always better than static group photos or individuals cheesing it up for the camera, and those good quality photos must be submitted in JPEG format (highest resolution possible) to meet the requirements of our printing process. Cameras are available for short-term sign-out at the Public Affairs Office, if needed.

The digital signs located across the installation are used to deliver information to members of the Fort Lee community and visitors. Contact us with any questions about which organizations are responsible for administering content for specific signs. Garrison Public Affairs is the content administrator for the digital sign near the main gate on Sisisky Boulevard.
Military organizations and tenants of Fort Lee, and recognized community groups with permission from the Garrison Commander to conduct activities on the installation, may submit requests to PAO for messages to be posted on digital signs about specific activities and programs using the form below. The digital policy includes additional instructions for submitting events and guidelines for posted announcements.
Fort Lee's government-access television station, became operational in February 1995. It is provided by Comcast Cable, the primary digital television broadcast service in the Fort Lee area. Channel 14 can be viewed by cable subscribers on post as well as the neighboring communities of Prince George, Hopewell, Petersburg and Colonial Heights. Several customer service agencies on the installation show the command channel in their community rooms, and Team Lee members can always ask for it if the program is not currently showing.
Currently, the 24-hour broadcast is comprised of programming provided by the Pentagon Channel (Defense Media Activity). A program schedule is available at www.pentagonchannel.mil.
