The Freedom of Information Act generally provides that any person has a right, enforceable in court, to obtain access to federal agency records, except to the extent that such records (or portions of them) are protected from disclosure by one of nine exemptions.
To submit FOIA requests, email usarmy.lee.imcom.mbx.Leee-foia-org@mail.mil. Click here for more information regarding the FOIA.
Army Records of Information Management System (ARIMS)
The Records Management Office also serves as the Garrison's primary point of contact for the Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS). ARIMS -
- Simplifies the recordkeeping process by categorizing records into two types (short term and long term permanent) and coding the disposition instructions ("K" for keep and "T" for transfer)
- Allows the organization to manage short term records
- Enables focuses on long term and permanent records management
- Provides clarity and understanding of what records are required to be saved regardless of the medium on which they are created
